The Tia Shires
The Tia animal rescue has some pretty large animals in its care.
Starting out as a rescue for dumped greyhounds and lurchers the centre has expanded.

Tia is set to become the biggest Shire horse rescue centre in the country.

The centre has 17 heavy horses altogether, including Joey, a huge Clydesdale.
At 19 hands tall and just three years old, Deb believes he may grow into the biggest Clydesdale horse in the country.

With 45 acres of paddocks the Shires have room enough to see out their days at Tia
Jessie
I had never actually been to a slaughter house before.
I can’t even remember who rang me and told me she would be there. Thankyou kind lady…

So we went to see her Thursday teatime.
Friday teatime she was home at Tia.
​
Just in the nick of time as Friday is killing day.
She is 2 and a half years old. Her crime? She didn’t like the stallion and she has shivers.

Tom and Rose Mary

Tom was born on the 2nd of June 2016.
​
He is beautiful, absolutely beautiful, Just like his mom - Rose Mary
Thunder
​
He is a stunning 8yr old Shire.
​
He has something wrong with his back leg that makes him throw it out whilst walking.
He also struggles with his feet. Thunder is broken to ride and he is the biggest, softest of all the Shire horses we have and he loves to be groomed and cuddled.

Phoebe
She was too beautiful for this world my Phoebe. When I first saw her she took my breath away. She was only 6months old.
​
When I got her at 12months old, the damage had been done. She had been fed “growth formula” by her breeder.
​
But it didn't make her grow. It killed her.
We tried for a year but we lost her 30th December 2015..
She was the most beautiful Clydesdale I have ever and will ever see……Deb (Jan 2016)
