The Tia Donkeys
Dandy and Beano
​
Dandy and Beano are miniature donkeys.
​
They have been residents at Tia Rescue for many years.
​
Both are very gentle enjoy being petted.
​
They can often be seen at Fetes, Christmas Fairs, fund raising events and even the occasional Nativity event.

Albi
When a lady rang saying she was losing her farm what could I say?
We took 2 ponies, a horse and the delightful Albi.
He was picked up weeks ago in Barnsley, severely underweight with his hooves curling upwards.
He is still very thin, but he has the sweetest nature.
The vet thinks he is between 15 and 20 years old.
His teeth are a mess so that’s probably why he’s so thin. The horse dentist is coming next weekend.
Albi will be staying here and is available for sponsorship…..Deb (Mar 2016)
Harry the Mule

OK.. We know a mule is not quite a Donkey, but Harry as been with Tia for a while and would love to meet you when you visit the Rescue Centre.

Very Special Donkeys

Meet Toby and his friends. They are Poitou Donkeys.
​
The Poitou donkey is a breed of donkey that has a thick matted and tangled coat, which originates from the Poitou region of France, about 300 miles south-west of Paris.
​
They are a rare breed and there are very few in the UK.
​
The Donkey Sanctuary in Devon is working hard to save the breed.
​

They like to be patted and made a fuss of.
