We’re currently fostering Gale (6yr old, male) as he wasn’t doing all that well (he was very skinny despite 3 meals a day).
Since being here with us he’s been absolutely great, not a single house accident and he’s been very well behaved with our current grey (6yr old, female). After the first few nights he’s slept through every night since.
He’s a very (VERY) affectionate and gentle dog and just loves to be with people and he’ll reward anyone who strokes him with vigorous cheek puffing. He loves soft toys (especially ones that squeak). He carries his favourite duck around the house at all times.
We’ve taught him stairs and kissing gates and he’s walked through a few fields of sheep beautifully.
At first he pulls a bit on the lead but as he becomes more familiar with walks (and all of the new exciting things to sniff) he settles down a lot.
He’s food motivated (which has been good for training) but doesn’t seem to bother anything he shouldn’t (i.e. our food).
We’ve not had the chance to test him with other dogs (large or small) as of yet although I’d say small furries are almost certainly a no! Although he’s quite big, he can curl up into the smallest ball to fit next to you on the sofa.
We really hope he can find his forever home some time soon. Please contact Deb at Tia if you think you could be that home.
